Well, I've done it! Decided to have a go at York Parkrun for my graduation. Hardly slept with worry and it was so windy during the night I thought it would be a nightmare - but it wasn't! Managed to do the 5k without stopping in 38.42 so not the fastest time in the world but feels like a massive achievement for little old me. I was overtaken by nearly everyone (including small kids and people pushing prams!) but it didn't matter!
One of the volunteers came to see me at the end and gave me a piece of Christmas cake!
It was brilliant and everyone was really friendly. Thanks for all of the support from everyone & Happy Christmas!

That is definitely a massive achievement, well done! Glad you enjoyed it. You will be surprised how your times will improve too if that's what you decide you want. But the best thing is to just enjoy it anyway. x
Congratulations. If it is any consolation, those small children overtake 90% of the field at every parkrun around the world. That's what is so great about it.....all ages and abilities out for fun.
