Bouncing ponytails ...

... fading into the distance ahead of me! I had a memory of one of Danzargo's posts when he was running behind a girl with a blonde bobbing ponytail. I was quickly overtaken by two such hairstyles this morning, which were sported by much younger and prettier women than myself. I tried to look cool as I listened to my W3R1 podcast but my face was quickly turning the colour of my purple running top, and my hair, though now growing well, post chemo, is a mile off being able to bob along behind me in any sort of shape or form. They both smiled sweetly as they passed me, and quickly became dots on the horizon. Ah well, I remind myself, this is not a competition. They were about half my age. As long as I can keep going at my own pace ...

I do have a bad case of ponytail envy though! x

Yes, but when they are wet they dribble down the back of your neck. Your hair sticks to you unattractively and takes ages to dry if you are going on to do something else post run. Ponytails are not all good....! Long hair makes you terribly hot in the sun too...

Ah leave em to it Cheery. You don't need no ponytail swinging about for the amusement of passing Dans. You could always make your own, attached to a baseball cap or something if you'd really like one

if you keep plugging away with your runs Cheery you'll be the one leaving others in your wake before too long

Til then keep plugging away, slow but sure. Have fun!

Thanks misswobble! This made me laugh. I'm loving just getting back out there again, so I'm determined to keep going x

Ha ha Cheery, I know what you mean , you should see the pic of Tea Fairy on here , she's like Rapunzel with her long locks streaming behind her :-)

You are doing so well , even more so after what you have been through . You should be very proud of yourself, Well done and keep going :-) xxx

Ah, but blonde and smooth it certainly ain't! More thick, dark and extremely wayward. Cheery, if you're still in the growing-back stage post chemo you are a blooming warrior, and your running, in my humble opinion, p*sses all over...most other people's, actually. You legend.
