Taking it slowly!

Woke up this morning with a burning desire to get back out there! First outing since March due to going through a course of treatment for BC. Now in recovery phase and still off work, so ...

...downloaded the Podcast, got on my running shoes, and off I went!

This was my first time with Laura, as when I did the programme with my hubby last year, he timed our runs. Using the podcast gave me the confidence to go out there by myself, knowing that I wouldn't risk overdoing it.

Okay, so I could probably have walked faster than I jogged ... but it's given me such a boost to have managed it! I thought I'd be a bit frustrated having previously been able to run for 30 mins but it's just perfect for the level of fitness (very very low!) I'm currently at.

To anyone out there thinking of taking this up ... just do it! Don't overthink it, get the podcast and go for it! You've nothing to lose and everything to gain. Now, where did I put that Radox bath soak...? x

Oh well done Cheeryrunner. Thats fantastic considering the shi**y time you've been through.

You're doing it right - nice and slow and just relish in the feeling that you're back!

Thanks poppypug, I do feel a bit proud - as long as it doesn't come before a fall, haha! I'm looking forward to Day 2 tomorrow x

Cheeryrunner, you are a model to us all, going through it despite having been ill. I think it's the best way to do indeed. You are your own leader. Also you know your body, and your body knows you. When you are both ready you will increase your cruising speed. It will come automatically. Keep the energy steady!

Thank you, helingmic! Sound advice there. I will definitely listen to my body and not overdo it. That's why following the programme is so great. Thanks for the encouragement x
