.....amazed at my run today

Well I did not run for nine days. The longest I have done since May! I had the busiest week and just did not have time. Anyway I went out today with the plan of running to my local crematorium. I know how depressing but I had been told it was a nice run there. I did not try and work out how far it was I just ran. Anyway I got there, stopped for a quick breather and a pat on the back and started running back. I walked up part of the most gruesome hill in the area on the way back but soon got back into my pace. I ran through the park, my music app crashed so I took my headphones out and carried on. As I got closer to home I felt good so I extended the run some more. It was a lovely day and while I was not going particularly fast it just felt comfortable. Anyway I got home and I have covered a distance of 7.5km!!! The furthest I have ever covered!!!! I am now seriously considering a 10k. I am really pleased with myself.

Sometimes a little rest can do you the world of good!! Sounds like you had a fantastic run today and 7.5km is fantastic! Seriously give 10km ago - for me its enough of challenge without being too much of a challenge if you know what i mean. Plus if you can do 7.5km you will definitely be able to do 10km, maybe enter a race too. Go for it, you can do it!!

Stop considering a 10k and enter one! If you can do 7.5k then you can get up to 10k over the coming 3-4 weeks (working on the +10% rule). There are some great 10k races out there and you certainly sound like you are ready for one :)

Do you suppose that the website also thinks that running to a crematorium is depressing given the tags that it has automatically generated :D

And so you should be, well done! Also, it sounds like you really enjoyed it and that is the best feeling of all. Sounds like with a little bit of training you could definitely hit a 10k no worries, how exciting!

Well done. Definitely go for a 10k.

I managed to go to 9.5k due to a diversion in the rain a couple of weeks ago - never expected to get anywhere near that. Did 10k the next week as I wasn't going to be beaten by half a k!

It's amazing what can be achieved when you don't think about it too hard.

Well done you. Definitely go for the 10K as you'll walk it! ( sorry, I mean run it).

Well done ! That's a great distance and it sounds as if you really enjoyed it too.
