EXPONENTIAL GROWTH........AND REMEMBER THE POSTER!!!

One year ago today, I posted stating that the numbers registered on this forum had grown hugely, to a staggering 7000 individuals. Today the number stands at 13733!! We have nearly doubled our numbers in a year, which is brilliant and must represent a huge number of lives changed forever, even accepting that some of that number will not have completed the programme, for whatever reason.

In that same post I also raised the idea of a poster aimed at raising the profile of C25k amongst the general public. We all know the benefits of running and we are the best advert for the programme, but the poster can reach parts that we can not. It is now three months since we have had our own poster and a whole cohort of new runners have come through since then and may not be aware of its existence. If you look on the Pinned Posts, on the All Posts page, there is a post called C25k Poster-Approved, with a link to a PDF poster that we have produced.

Many of us have printed off and distributed this poster to GP's practices, sports centres and our workplace notice boards etc. C25k gets precious little other publicity from the NHS and we can help our national health budget go just a little bit further by distributing the poster in our localities or emailing it to friends or family who may be interested.

If each of the individuals registered on this forum put one poster up in a public place, we would have nearly 14000 adverts for C25k around the country, which would be bound to be of use to many. So, if you feel that C25k has changed your life, I urge you to put up a poster or two and spread the word.

I would also love to hear from anyone who first heard about C25k by seeing the poster.

There was an article on today's guardian website recommending nhs c25k as one of the top 10 health apps. From the tags it looks like there might have been an article in Sunday's observer.

That was the idea.....if all C25k graduates could get just two people to have a go then we would have the whole country running and smiling in no time at all.....
