The Daily Digest - concerns.

I wonder how our Daily Digest is constructed?

I notice a worrying trend in mine towards the Bridge to 10K forum (and Marathon Support) that I belong to, and away from the Couch to 5K forum, that is my main interest.

I'm more interested in encouraging the new runners than having a Social for proven runners - not that this is a bad activity.

Are the numbers of new C25K runners dropping off? And if they are, what can we all do to improve that. The number of obese and sedentary in our society certainly isn't decreasing nearly fast enough.

The number of people joining c25k looks busier than ever, theoldfellow, and will continue to do so while the BBC flies the flag when showing running events on the tv.

I don’t receive the daily digest but I do see the weekly one and I’ve wondered this too. I think it may be a collection of posts which have had a lot of responses, but I may be wrong. I’m sure the admins will answer your question in time.

Aha, I don't watch TV. Maybe I should be asking the HU people to add some controls on what we see in the digest(s). I do hope and pray you are right about the numbers joining.

And for anyone who is joining us, GO FOR IT!!!

Yes my friend was doing c25k this spring/summer and usually posted in the morning. There were so many posts in a day that it was hard to find hers. More so than when we were doing it. I think the admins found it quite hard keeping up with everyone, but there’s still a lot of us giving advice when we can.

New c25k runners are signing up all the time . We just need to encourage and support them to stay as that's what kept me going😊

I quite agree Buddy, without this lot, I think I would have given up about week 5. 🙏😄

The structured running plan really is thought out well but being able to come on to this forum and ask questions and just get recognition of your running achievements is so helpful😊

(What a beautiful typo! New runners sighing up is accidental poetry, Buddy!)

Ha ha . Bloody auto correct 😂

Fixed now thank you

(But I did like it: a sense of us all sighing into mellow autumn running...)

I know it is now. But I would like a way to have more C25K posts in my daily digest. If Dexy is right, the more popular posts in Marathon and Bridge get higher priority. I've un-followed Marathon, as you know, and I'll see it that improves things for me.

Ahhh I see...

I agree with gogojojo then. Popular posts from users with a bigger following can swamp the newbies.

At this rate your post will be popular and appear in the daily digest! 😊

Most of my last digest was from the marathon forum... which is strange as I think I’ve only posted there twice.

C25K is super busy!! Must be to do with most "popular" posts, ie based on responses. It's really hard to keep up now, especially across all 3! (C25K, Bridge and Marathon)

Still going strong! I feel more comfortable on the 5k forum as although I can run 5k the 10 is a bit in the future, I feel a bit of an imposter over with the big boys! It really is a life changing program, best thing I ever did 🏃🏻‍♀️💕🏃🏻‍♀️

Yea... just jump straight up to the marathon board, we're all lambs there!! 👍🏻😁

Seriously though, it really is all just the same thing, one foot, then the other... nothing fancy 😉

Only issue is deciding which foot to start with. 😳

I think it might be the most popular posts and with the period of big races these last few days it's made a lot of posts over in the marathon forum recently.
