I did it ! plucked up nerve and joined the lovely Dreckely Runners. first time out last night, I didn't let on, but I had had a mega busy day,1 poorly Great grandaughter, 1 Grand daughter for tea, an 88 year old Mum, it was my fast day and my back was hurting, but as I had the promise of a lift I was determined to go. ( on an empty stomach stupid me ) We ran around 4k, and the leaders kept doubling back, again and again and again, I was spectacularly last and the runners who did an extended run got back before me ! did I care, did I hell, never thought in a million years I would be doing this. One really important thing, their kit is a lovely green, I could never run with a group who's kit is yellow !! ( Sorry but I am in a silly mood, back killing me but sat smirking, so chuffed with me )

You have have every right to feel great. It's sounds like you really enjoyed your running club and to come home smiling after the day you had, it must of felt like a bit of a break from everything. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Great stuff GJ! I bet you were ready for a relaxing run after a hectic day. Some valuable YOU time.
I bet you can't wait for next week. It's good the way they drop back to pick you up isn't it. I found this when I ran with our local group. They were ever so good at coming back for me. They all wanted to chat with me though so I was struggling to get my answers out
I was so ready to get out that night MW, but this weeks run felt better, I really enjoyed it
You're so brave ! You have shamed me into giving a running club a go too. I am going later in the week (they did seem a bit doubtful when I said I didn't think I could run for 5 miles) and I hope they are as nice as your lot sound.
hen pen I been so lucky, this is group is perfect for me, small friendly, non competitive, we all run together and lead runners run back to check on the stragglers ( that would be just me ! )
Its a lovely little club, no pressure, no competitiveness, just support and super friendly. Second run with them last night, it was def a better run, for me I mean. And a little longer. So glad I joined
Wow thats good running! I would have stayed home and stuffed my face so well done on the motivation
I was wondering if you would be interested in sharing your experiences of the Couch to 5K program in an online survey? I am a PhD researcher evaluating the effectiveness of the program and love hearing about how users got on with it.
