Just got through the winter down here in South Africa and looking forward to summer with early morning sunshine. Have a new job which is hampering my running time as it is a long commute from home but still running when I can.
I am doing the parkrun most Saturdays now and for anyone nervous of doing this.... dont be! Our numbers reach around 700+ so there is every shape size and ability - and thats only the dogs at the back. Seriously it is one of the best ways to push yourself And because it is timed, each week it is you against the clock. Once you know the course its a breeze pacing yourself.
Go on Try it !

I just found my local one, though I have no intention of entering at the moment! I printed off the course directions though, and am going to walk it this week to assess it's suitability for the next stage of my running journey after graduation!
Thats a great idea. But dont delay. Some people walk the whole way so there is no peessure. Just join in and try and finish. You could leave at any point (or run walk ) as you only clock in at the end. I am sure once you get into the groove, you will complete course with no problem.
I've been doing Parkrun for a couple of months, its great. I started right at the back of the run, but am n ow slowly edging forwards. My loca run gets about 300-350 every week now.
This site gives me PRE (Park Run Envy) as there isn't one any where near us and they sound wonderful I am visiting relatives in Sheffield in December ... would it be rude to pop out for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning, do you think?
What a huge parkrun! I thought Edinburgh was large usually 400-500 but 640 recently for the 250 th. Where is your parkrun? And what is the record number for a parkrun , does anyone know?
