I cheated with my wedding dress - it had laces up the back and was designed to accommodate a fairly advanced bump. I would really be in a very bad way if I was too big for that!
Oh that's encouraging Bazza - you could pack it for strutting around the deck on your next cruise! Well done!
I have a 28 year old item of clothing too - my P.E. gymslip thingie from school - i think i must have picked up Barbie's by mistake on that last day at school because no human could fit into it! Well, no human version of me!
For quite a few years now, I have been convinced that alien "Bodysnatchers" had entered my body and taken me away - only to replace me with a somewhat similar body. They obviously didn't take too much notice of my old body - because if they had they would easily have seen that they replaced my body with one that has shoulders much larger than my old one. I mean - how can someones shoulders change with age??? My wedding suit and my old Naval uniforms were obviously made for someone else - not the "me" of today.
How intriguing Bazza! Maybe your shoulders felt they needed to broaden to carry your increasing attention to your responsibilities ....
Similarly my waist felt the need to broaden to carry my increasing attention to my dinners!!!
Excellent goal.....but would you want to wear it again....except for the memories of the day!
I have my shirt and 'going away' Oxford bags, that I can still fit into ~ trouble is that there is a little more of me to tuck-in and spill out over the top!! Not a good look. Mind you, it is the silver next year, so not too bad.
I wish I'd kept my clothes from the 80s when I was a size 8/10. I chucked them all out when I got biiiggg, but I'm now quite slim again, and I had some really nice clothes - in those days I used to buy shoes from Russell and Bromley and clothes from swanky shops - pre big responsibilities and kids - now I buy my clothes in Matalan, Primark and Tesco. I'm such a classy chick..
I have found some of my clothes from when I had a proper job (1996/7) most fit again - though I will not be wearing many of them thank you - but there is one skirt that's still about an inch away. Once that meets it will be joining its friends in the charity shop pile.
