I thought as I can't run every day (I couldn't if I wanted to!) I thought I would try something else on my rest day. A little while ago I bought myself a Reebok Step - how I loved step classes in the '90s - found a really cheesy DVD on Amazon. When I tried it first of all, I was worn out very quickly, so today I thought let see how I get on now.

Still knackering! I managed quite a bit more of it today, but I had thought the fact that I can run for 25 mins now that I would find it a lot easier but still sweating like a trooper. I am definitely going to keep trying it - maybe on 2 of my rest days, Hopefully it will really help build my fitness up even more. It should definitely strengthen my legs up.

Actually as I sit and type this, I realise I am much fitter because I have recovered so much more quickly. Looking forward to the second run of week 7 tomorrow :0)

Oooo step sounds fun, I remember doing that at school when it was all the rage :) I'm sure it'll be a great leg strengthener. happy stepping!

That's what I am hoping - it will be interesting to see whether it has made my legs too tired for tomorrow's run.

Sound like pure purgatory, but well done! I do my stepping machine and now a rowing machine too on my 'rest' days. Feeling good!

I was hoping for Jessica Ennis' washboard abs too. Ha ha in my dreams.

I hope so - I have more energy since starting the programme and I know I need to have the rest days, but I am actually getting fidgety now when I am not running - blimey - what is going on!!

It is actually quite good fun - there is some really corny '80s music on the DVD and they are exercising on a beach on Hawaii (where I wish I could be too!). I would like to get a rowing machine....might have to suggest that one to the DH :0)
