Hello you lovely lot! Does anyone know of a free smart phone app that will calculate how far you run, speed etc? I'm a smart phone newbie and all things technical fill me with dread. So please be kind and if you know of any please let me know. Thanks. SB x

Mapmyrun works for me. You could also try Endomondo. I think there are lots though, you'll get plenty of suggestions.

I have used Endomondo with my smart phone. If it is an android phone then the link is below
play.google.com/store/apps/...
I don't have windows phone or iphone but they probably also have it in iTunes and the windows 8 marketplace

I am using Mapmyrun and LOVE it!

I use RunKeeper x

Run keeper ....

I use Endomondo on my phone, upgraded to pro (not premium) because of the custom time intervals. Strava is another good one, you can try a few and see which suits you best.

Runkeeper and Argus. Argus is very easy to use

I use Runkeeper - you can programme it for intervals too.

runkeeper here too, well, before i got my garmin anyway

I use Strava, which I know is more cycling based but is actually great for running too. Easy to use and I don't get any problems some friends have had with the gps on other apps.

Run keeper andmapmyrun.

Runkeeper for me, and I can't bear fuss and bother, not very patient learning to use things so it has to be easy.

The big advantage of Runkeeper over all others is that you can programme intervals ( such as the intervals used in C25K) into it.
there is Map my run, Endomondo, strava, runkeeper. They all do similar things!
