Junior Parkrun - Hafsa's Wristband for her 11th run!

My kids Hafsa and Zaky went to Junior Parkrun yesterday. Hafsa (who is 4 and a half) got her wristband because she has run 11 Parkruns which is the equivalent of a Half Marathon. Zaky (who is 2 and a half) ran with Hafsa during her 2nd kilometer, so ran his first ever kilometer. They were both very pleased with themselves. I have attached a photo of them when we got back home. Hafsa wanted to show off her wristband and Zaky insisted on wearing one of my headbands when he ran and kept it on for the rest of the morning!

I was surprised that Zaky manged to run the 1km. He enjoyed it so I will bring him along more often but he has 16 months until he can run his 1st official Junior Parkrun because you have to be 4 years old until you can register yourself.

That is too cute for words. You must be proud of them both - they look like they enjoyed themselves immensely. Well done for being such a great role model for them.

Lovely. I see so many 30-40ish blokes out cycling (especially) at a weekend and wonder about their children.... I believe strongly in what Jacqueline Kennedy said "If you bungle raising your children, whatever else you do well in life doesn't really matter very much" It is lovely that you are sharing the joy of running (and I do mean the joy of running not just running which could have the opposite effect!) with your little ones... and thank you for sharing with us.
