Just a quick post. I'm thinking of getting some karrimor trainers but they seem to get mixed reviews as to quality. Any opinions please people, good or bad!!

My recommendation would be to make sure your shoes fitted properly by a running shoe specialist sports shop. The actual brand is FAR less important than getting the right shoes for your gait and support requirements.
When they test your gait, if they are right for you and you like them then get them, we are supposed to replace our shoes frequently anyway so they don't have to last forever.
I bought a pair of karrimor trainers which to start with appeared ok but after a couple of outside runs on week 2 I started to get a bad knee, done all the normal rest and Ice to help with pain, I then decided to go to a specialist and have my running gait analysed I purchased a pair of Ascis nimbus gel 16 and my knee has been ok ever since, karrimor sadly do not support enough for full time running on roads. I personally would not purchase another pair but would for just working out at home.
I used Karrimor when I first started c25k, but had to put an insole in them when I got ball of foot pain after about 3 weeks but seemed fine for months thereafter - but I did seem to wear them out on the soles and then the internal ribbing went. Got my gait analysised and now have Saucony - they are really comfy and I have been really pleased with them.
Hi c4ts what insole did you buy?
I bought foot logic insoles which were for the whole foot and kept my arch up - I think they changed their name recently as recall getting an update email from the company - just checked now called footactive.co.uk. Not needed them since I got my Saucony running trainers
