After a slight knee niggle, I am off to london to have my gait looked at, so I can purchase the right trainers for running for me. Any advice anyone? ;-)

I vote find a 'sweatshop', staff are great, you don't feel bad for rejecting their custom insoles (which they make for you as part of the free gait analysis but there is no pressure to buy, i managed to say no without feeling bad which is probably the first time ever!) and any shoes you get, if you decide within 30 days they aren't right for you, you can exchange them for another pair (even if you've run in them). The one downside, the price, the shoes aren't cheap but they do have a sale on at the moment and if you have a budget i'd be honest with them upfront (someone on here did as they didn't have much to spend and got last seasons model from out the back :) ) Happy shoe shopping, I really want to buy another pair, 1 pair is just not enough ;)

Thank you lovefood. I will also look them up too. I'm going to a shop called runners needs to have my gait analysed hopefully this will put stop to that aching knee I get after running.

Sweatshop definitely the best and, with their 30day guarantee, the safest place to shop for running shoes. Good luck. Let us know what you get :)

Don't know if this helps but I went to a fab place run-shop.co.uk

They're in Hove and West Sussex

I'm in norfolk, seems I have to travel to get the right trainers but will be worth it if it cures my niggling knee pain after I've run my program
