Just done week 5 day one: Can I stand the music for the rest of the programme..? Sticking with it is harder work than the running at times.

A good running playlist is essential!

I only have an old MP3 player and am using the free podcasts so no option to change at the moment! I plan to stick with Laura and her terrible music to the very end and look forward to creating my own playlists when I can run for 30 minutes (optimistic!). :-)

Wait until you get to weeks 8 & 9 and have to listen to "Julie".... she's my bete noire...

I hope I get there! Must admit Laura has been a life changer: I really couldn't ever have imagined being able to run for 5 minutes a few short weeks ago. I will stick with her despite her deplorable taste in music!

Yeah, her choice of music leaves quite a lot to be desired. But she's brilliant at motivation and getting us to run when we think we can't :)

You are right: I couldn't have got this far without her (and the support from the community)

I must admit I did get slightly bored of the podcasts but in week nine loved them again. I then had to adjust to running to my music, I have to change the playlist regularly so I don't get bored. I like the Julie song, reminds me of my achievement and how much this plan is great so she sometimes appears in my list.

All the more reason to graduate so I can run to my own playlist!

I must admit though that I am very pleased to have Laura telling me what to do: I would be all at sea without her!

5 more short weeks... then you can use your own playlists! :)

Perversely, the music is good for pacing and you MUST meet Julie... you will never be the same again! :)

Laura is a great motivator so I stuck with it just for her...

You are right. Laura has been fabulous this past few weeks and I couldn't have done it without her. 2 people stopped me today at work to ask what I was up to as I look so much better! I will stick with Laura to the end!

Wow - that must have made you feel great! Well done... Just imagine yourself in around 5 weeks time... you'll be (yes you will) running 30 minutes non-stop 3 times a week... the best is yet to come...

I'm personally glad you'll stick with the lovely Laura... she's helped quite a few of us lot change our lives.. and you'll look back at the music one day and chuckle... a lot...

I'm confused now! I've never heard her music! Where is it hiding! somedays i can't get anything to play but made a new play list of my own which seems to work fine! Need music! The runs without were so difficult!!!

I am just using the free nhs couch to 5k podcasts downloaded from the website. They have Laura superimposed over some rather 'dodgy' music, but it has been chosen to help keep you going and make your pace right.

Are you using the app or the podcast ? I gave up on the app as the music stopped playing and the timings were way off - podcast from the C25K site are good and have built in playlists

I have just found the podcast with the music. Been running in silence until now!! Thanks ejbirdy!!

I loved Laura and her music on the podcasts. To me it's running music and maybe it wouldn't be my normal taste but it gives me the beat to run to. I can listen to my own music any other time!

I've just finished week 8 and have to admit that since the interval runs ended I just listen to the podcasts for run 1 and then listen to my own playlist using endomono. ..
