I thought that rather than running a circuit I would give my run a purpose. I have read that people who are good at running don't just do it for exercise it is really part of their life. They run to work, they run to the shops , they run to school. They just run. So I thought I would run to the local pub which just happened to be about 5k from where I live and so I did. It also enabled me to see part of my area I would not normally see as I would have turned back before the pub. When I arrived I sat down and soon after my wife and son arrived and we had a lovely lunch together and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Do other people do something like this?
On another note how do i get hold of one of these lovely Healthunlocked tee shirts?

ahh yes my lovely wife even thought of that and provided me with a change of clothes a towel and deodorent. Mind you my pub doesn't sound as posh as yours...I certainly wouldn't call them genteel or the pub a rural hostelry.. full of bike riders, walkers and an asortment of varying dogs and children.
I run to the cinema 2.5 miles away each week, watch a film, then run home. I have to take a jacket or sweatshirt tied around my waist as the cinema is air-conditioned and bloomin' freezing!
I now run to two supermarkets which I always thought were too far away. It's good as I can't buy too much as I have to run home with it all. One is about 18 minutes running time and the other about 15, so not so long as to get all sweaty and off-putting to other shoppers
I must admit that i run to the off licence which is a round trip of over 4k. I just don't feel so guilty then and also the first drink tastes soooooooo much better.
