Newbie saying thank you.....

I just discovered this site on Friday after completing week 5 run 2. At that point I was feeling pretty pleased with myself for managing the two 8min runs (barely). However reading the posts here alerted me to the big leap to 20min in run 3, which I hadn't foreseen, and really didn't think I would ever be able to do! But reading all the motivational messages posted to others really psyched me up to go for it, and this morning I completed it! I'm feeling pretty ecstatic as I really struggled with even 90 seconds at the beginning! If I hadn't read the threads here first I doubt that I would have kept going this morning - so a big thank you! Roll on week 6 now!

Well done CKC1... that's a significant milestone there in W5R3 - both a physical and a mental one... I'm so happy you managed to get it done (see - the programme does work)....

Congratulations and enjoy your rest now.... go out extra slow on Week 6 - those intervals can be tricky after the elation of the 20 minute run... slow and steady though and you'll be right.... :)

Have fun!

Well done.

Week 6 goes back to intervals for the first two run, so don't think they will be easy after today, but remember you can do it :D

Thank you everyone, and I'll use that advice for week 6.

I think I was actually speaking out loud to Laura at the end of the podcast today I was so happy! :)

I completed run 3 of week 5 today too. I also thought the 1 minute runs in week 1 were hard but it's amazing how far we have come!! If I hadn't read the encouraging posts on here and everyone's struggles I too would have contemplated giving up thinking it was all out of my grasp. But hey ho on to week 6 we go!!!

So grateful for these inspiring posts, and your advice for week 6! Day of rest tomorrow but beginning to prepare mentally for the W6D1 torture (but looking forward to the challenge)! Thanks, everyone. :)

Good work CKC1 - I found W5R3 is by far, the most daunting of the runs in the programme.

As everyone else has said, week 6 can be tricky so take it easy and even though you've just run 20 minutes, the intervals can be a bit sneaky!
