I've been out for nearly 8 weeks after reaching week 5 run2. I've had problems with plantar faschiitis for a few months and I did that second run when I knew I really shouldn't. It's taken ages to settle to the stage I feel I can (carefully) try again. I did a week one run and was pleased to find I hadn't gone back to where I was before, so I moved to week 2. Also OK so it's week 3 run 1 next and we'll see how it goes. The big motivator for me last time was that each time I ran I was so aware of the improvements to my fitness so I'm really pleased to see the benefits have stayed with me, at least to some extent. I'm sure many other people have had hiccups and had to go back a bit like me. How did you get on?

Well done TA on getting back out there. PF is so frustrating, I'm now onto my 3rd month on the injury bench due to it. I had hoped that the acupuncture had cured me of the worst but had a check up at the doctor on Friday thinking I would get the go ahead to start running again, not to be though he has referred me back to a Physiotherapist and says its not sorted although the pain is not so acute. I even bought new running shoes too I've not given up hope yet though. He seems to think I would benefit with moulded insoles, will just have to wait and see. Problem is you often have about 6 weeks to wait for even the first appointment!!!!!!!!! Sorry moan over.
You take it easy, baby steps and I really hope all goes well for you this time. Good luck
