Re my previous posts (slow, slow, quick, quick, slow). Said I would own up if I had calculated my speed wrong using my pedometer. My nephew has explained to me how the pedometer works and speed and distance depends on your stride. Still don't understand it! Anyway it looks like I am covering about 3.5 miles in 30 minutes. I am still very happy with this taking into account I have only been running about 3 months and I am nearer 70 than 60! Happy running all.
Definitely slow!: Re my previous posts (slow... - Couch to 5K
Definitely slow!
You can always plot on a map how far and how fast. You can use a stopwatch on your phone, if you have one. I use Goodrunguide as that even has off-roads trails on it which don't seem to be on googlemap. You can plot your actual route on that, it gives you a red pen (which you control using your computer mouse) You mark the route you've taken on the map. It's great. If you note your time as well as the distance it will give you some stats to play with
3.5 miles in 30 minutes is 5k in 30 minutes which is the ultimate accolade in C25k terms, the nirvana, the zenith. You did it Running66!!! You should be well chuffed, and at your age! Woooooooooooooooo!
Thanks for that MissW. I did put something on my phone for run mapping etc but couldn't get it to work properly so gave up. Have now ordered a Garmin to have a loom at. Bit of an extravagance I know but hey you can't take it with you!
That's a great time!
Definitely NOT slow Great speed well done Another example of showing age is only a number
I have been running for almost a year, am 10 years younger than you and quickest I have done is 3.12 miles (5k) in just short of 33 minutes. So, I would say you are definitely speedy
That's very speedy! Why don't you try out one of the free apps like innkeeper which measure distance and time for you?
Crikey that's a speed I dream of one day Very well done
