I'm finding it so hard to run outside in this summer heat. the past two days I've been running in the gym on the treadmill but I don't enjoy it as much. I'm up to week 7...I'm
afraid I may have to pick up the last two weeks when it gets cooler out and just stick to the treadmill for now. I'm in NY and it's been in the 90's and humid.

How funny - because I live in the UK, I read your post and the first thing I thought was "Hang on? It's not THAT hot at the moment" - and then I read you live in NY!! Sorry!! It can get damned hot in NY can't it? I remember working there in July '10 for a few weeks and was absolutely BOILED!
I must admit that I recently went to Cyprus on holiday and had to use the treadmill in the air conditioned gym because it was in the 90's outside, so don't feel too bad.
I actually live near NY and so I quite literally know what you mean and feel your pain. I usually go out at night or the occasional early morning run and I have never missed an opportunity of late to run in the rain. But I was reading in a running book recently that it only takes about a week or two of running in hotter temperatures for your body to become accustomed to it. So if you slow it down a touch and try not to run right at noon, after a little while, you'll feel better!
Jeff Galloway says : "slow down 30 seconds a mile for every 5F increase above 60F" . So -- if you were running at say 90F, his recommendation is to slow your pace by 3 minutes per mile!!
