Week 7 on hold...
Oh no! Hope your back gets better soon. I have a bad back and spinal problem. Was always told not to do exercise because of the problems I had. This year I was told about core strength and how it helps for backs. It has helped so much! Thank fully I have far less problems now
Enjoy your holiday in Cornwall I lived on the Lizard Peninsula for a couple of years while in the Navy and loved it there!
Hope you get your back sorted and happy running xx
I can sympathise with you, just back from a three month enforced break. It's amazing how hard it is when you have to stop - even for a few days! Hopefully you can get your back probs sorted quickly but in the meantime you may have to practise relaxation techniques to cope with the frustration
Have a lovely holiday.
I wonder what caused your back spasm! I hope whatever it was has gone now and you can enjoy your holiday.
I know we sometimes look for a cause but it can be down to stress!
I have a bad back and years ago I was told never to run and to not exercise out of water. Thank god advice had changed over the years. Mine when into a severe spasm a few years ago I could barely walk, that's when I discovered I needed to build up my core muscles cause the spine won't support it's self, I also learnt a lot more about pain theory and how things can get a little hyper sensitive so you can actually be all healed up but your brain is getting the wrong messages - my local NHS did this fantastic back care and pain management course you learnt the bio mechanics, pain management, how to use medications effectively (not an issue for me, but many people don't actually use pain meds correctly), alternative pain management such as mediation and this was all mixed in with physio and gym sessions.
So work those core muscles and maybe if it's bad have a chat with your GP and see if you have any back courses on offer locally.
Thanks for the good advice everyone...need to work on my cores for sure but this came from no where...sat in the office more than usually, doing interview, induction and appraisal...boring stuff and i am not good seating too long! However Misswobble you might have a point there, never thought of it but so stress at the moment at work with dealine., new changes and all this before i go on leave!
I will check if my GP has anything around back pain management, haven't been there for a year as usually manage my joint and back pain ok but this time it was unbearable! want to run so need to sort it out fast!
Sorry to hear that. Hope it doesn't hold you back. Enjoy your break in Cornwall
