Just about to start week two and the aching pain in my legs is really bad, should I be doing more warm up then what is done on the podcast? I know some ache is to be expected but the only time it eased today was when I was walking somewhere funnily enough

I too am not a doctor but from my experience when I started these are quite normal and as you said they get better when you keep going. Try to do some stretches and drink a small glass of water before your brisk walk warm up, this might help

Hiya As with the other replies Khillary I'm no Doctor but i know I had exactly the same issue as you. It drove me mad with frustration as it really was quite painful (I put it down to always wearing high heels then suddenly running regularly in flat shoes!!) but your calves etc will get used to it and will improve. I always do the brisk walk and some light stretching before and after and it has eased considerably now. I am on Week 7 Run 2 and the stretching is still part of my plan and it works for me. Al the best with your journey and keep it up as it will ease if you follow the plan and Lauras advice. Good luck!! xx

Stretching your calves and hamstrings after the run is really important. You can get a foam roller on Amazon for about £13; this will massage the sore muscles. You can find how to use it on Youtube if you type in 'foam roller hamstring;. Good luck x
