Week 7 run2 bad rn

I was really excited at completing week6 and enjoyed the first run of week7 but really struggled with run2 although I did complete it. I've found I usually feel very relaxed after the runs but week7 run2 just left me feeling exhausted! Even the next day. It's run3 tomorrow and the forecast is for torrential rain so I'm a bit worried.

It's normal to be tired after runs. You are a new runner so expect it to hurt for a bit. You normally recover after a day's rest. If not, take two days out. It's not a race so there's no pressure other than the need to finish the run

Rain is a blessing. You will find that it cools you down, so everyone here has come to love the stuff. I'm not saying run in lightening but otherwise get out in the rain. If you wear specs to run you might need a baseball cap. I have a cheapo lightweight waterproof running jacket from SDirect (Aldi do one too)

You completed it: that's the key bit. Also, everyone has the odd bad run, where you get to the end feeling shattered and breathless when the last time you did that time or distance you felt okay. If R3 starts to feel too much, just take it slowly and remember just how far you (couldn't!) run seven weeks ago!

Well, my w7r2 on Thursday was also rubbish, so I took 2 days off and went for r3 this morning straight out of bed. Had torrential rain overnight and that big puddle in the last few minutes was paradise for my overheated feet! Hard, yes, but the elation at finishing week 7 was even better. Roll on week 8.
