I know it's rude to shout but a not quite 52 year old male has managed to run 5k in 26 minutes and 25 seconds before his 52nd birthday. Carrying on to complete week 9 run 2's remaining minutes with no break and a sprint for the last minute. I cannot rate this programme highly enough.
Laura was back with me today. I ran for 15 minutes at 7.1 mph, then 12 minutes at 7 mph before dropping down to 6mph and back up to 7mph for the last minute. (3.48 miles in 30 minutes)
Yes I had aches and pains when I finished but I have achieved my personal target I set at the start of this programme and know I can complete run 3 and graduate on saturday.
Thank you Laura and thank you fellow C25Kers for helping me achieve what seemed so far away a couple of months ago.
Can't wait for Saturday! Happy Running!

Well, I think you can definitely say you HAVE got fitter GettingFitter, well done. I hope you have got something special planned for your run on Saturday ?
It amazes us old dogs what new tricks we can learn, doesn't it? Congratulations on your time and near completion. Set up the conditions for your graduation run to be as good as possible. Like you, I had a wonderful, though not as fast as yours, W9R2 and then followed it with a real slog of a graduation run, on a Friday evening at the end of a busy week, which was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Get it right. You're worth it!!!
