Hi ana. Sorry to hear about your hip problem. I've had an on and off knee and hip niggle for a couple of weeks now but I'm hoping they will settle now I've had a gait analysis done and new running shoes. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

Hi! Ty! I did my run yesterday, and hip seems to be ok. I will do gait analysis next Saturday, and buy new shoes, I agree, this can help. Best regards.

Dan posted some hip exercises a few days ago. Running really needs strength in your core muscles and the hips and glutes, so well worth doing some strengthening exercises.

These things alwaya seem to be tricky. What works for one person might not work for you. That said I had something like this which was a tight ITB. That is an acronym for something latin which was Incomprehensible Techno Babble to me. It is though, apparently, the muscle group from hip to kneo on the outside of the leg. My physio sorted mine and I now keep them well rolled!

Dan has mentioned this so ond of his exercises will probably help.

One thing that always helps is rest when needed and take it steady when running.

Good luck :-)

Hi anadelsur. As Nerdio says, what works for one might not work for another, but after having twinges and aches in a different place everyweek (including my hips) - very considerate of my joints/muscles to take it in turns, don't you think? - I discovered brufen gel and a heat pack. My neice is a personal trainer and suggested it to me when I thought my knee was going to take me out of the game on week 4 and it worked a treat. I reckoned that it a PT got muscle and joint pain now and again then I wasn't literally falling apart at the seams as I had suspected! Just take it easy and don't worry too much or push yourself too hard. The day will come when you run and rest without pain.....honest ; )
