Today I completed Run 2 of Week 5 and now feeling apprehension about the next run - I know my head is telling me I will never be able to run 20 mins non stop but I'm going with my heart and I will do this. I am 47 tomorrow and yesterday I was told I have diabetes so I will do this and I will remain positive

You will do it! In January, I really struggled to run for 60 seconds. A couple of bouts of illness meant I did week 3 three times, and this evening I ran for 30 minutes! This programme is truly amazing!

Go with your heart, you're right, and you will do it!

I bet you didn't think you would run for 60 seconds when you started either! You will be fine I am sure. Just take it steady and pace yourself. Slow right down if you need to. I am glad that you are remaining positive you are doing so well. You seem to be taking everything in your stride regarding your diabetes diagnosis, so good luck with your health, and keep up the running. Happy Birthday for tomorrow! x

Well done on your second run of W5. Please do ignore what your head is telling you because it's lying! R3 has a reputation it doesn't deserve (in my view) and it is achievable. You have put in the preparatory work and trained up to it so you will be fine. Just take it steady - and enjoy. It's a turning point in the programme and you will feel a sense of achievement after you've done it. Good luck and best wishes.
