Crunch runs?? What are they?

I saw a 10k crunch run advertised locally. It says it is multi terrain but I cannot find any details of what it entails. The website doesn't describe in detail either ( I cannot find it). If anybody has done one can you let me know before I madly register for something I may not be ready for. Thanks

Is it the Crediton Crunch? if so then there are some reviews on it from last year on Runners World looks like a good event if its not a really hot day, but rather hilly

Hi yes it is! thank you for the info and after reading it ,I think I will do next year when I am more experienced with hills- I don't like the sound of the killer bit at the end!

I am doing the Crediton Crunch next weekend, which is described as a 10k ish multi-terrain run. I thought it was just the name of this event and don't know if it is of a particular genre. It is geographically familiar running territory for me so I am not expecting any surprises, like having to do 50 pressups every kilometre, or anything else, beyond running with 200+ other runners.

Hi, I live about 1/2 hr away from Crediton and saw a leaflet for it. Since starting C5k I have always run on flati-ish ground and can run quite quite far but I'm probably not fit enough for the hills yet! Will do it next year and do another parkrun tomorrow instead. Good luck next Sunday , let us all how you get on.

Good luck with your Parkrun. Do you go to Killerton? I am hoping to get my other half to do her first parkrun after I have done the Crunch, so maybe see you there.

I am doing Long meadow Taunton, it's a bit further for me but it's where I was at Uni (Plymouth campus). I must try the Killerton. I do prefer to run on my own (Grand western) but occasionally it is good to gauge improvement. I will try it and I will look out for your partner - we could wear our C25k t shirts proudly!

I think (hope) that the killer bit at the end of the Crediton Crunch no longer exists since they changed the course. The Killerton Parkrun is a lovely, single lap, offroad run with just enough hills to keep it interesting. I always wear my C25k shirt at any organised event, so I'll look out for you.
