I ran w9r1 this morning on the treadmill and took a photo of the stats at the end of the run. Later I worked out that 3.11 miles is a mini fraction over the 5k. So happy and can't believe it. Also amazed at how the calories used have increased dramatically with these longer runs. Maybe I will be able to shift this last couple of stones after all! Just got two more runs to graduation and want to make sure one is outside. My target then will be to run the full 5k as today's run included the 5 minutes warm up and warm down walks. well done! good luck for your graduation week, i've never tried a treadmill for running, sure you will enjoy your outside runs!
Well done on your achievement. Have you run outside before? It's much more enjoyable but is harder work although it will use more calories. If you are not used to running outside then may I suggest you use the middle run for this purpose and save the graduation run for the treadmill as you are already very confident with that method. I have done a few outside runs, one of the w8 runs last week. I started with outside runs on grass which was pretty tough as it was quite uneven and muddy but the recent one I did on paths which was fine and much better. The problem is that there aren't any reasonably level paths where I live and the fields are very uneven. I will talk to some local runners and get some advice.
