1st run completed....whew!

Due to all your encouragement on a previous post, the dogs and I have completed our 1st run. As I didn't want the hassle of the dogs being on leads on country lanes, we ran round the set aside of a wheat field. It wasn't until I'd done a couple of minutes I realized i was running to week 2...lol and couldn't see the screen of my mobile in the bright sunshine to change it so just struggled on...note to self 'get sorted before you go out'. I feel great, though i'm coughing a fair amount (gave up smoking 2 years ago but still paying the price for a 40 year habit - sigh) Thanks again

Well done Ramona ! Its great this isn't it :-) Same here with the smoking , can you imagine trying to do this if you still smoked ?? I think my lungs would've packed up and left me to it . Get you , starting off at week 2 already ha ha :-)

Well done on completing your first run - even if it was week 2. You will find it easier if you set your phone to week one next run out. Good luck also on having given up the smoking. I gave up in January for the second time - also had been on 40 a day. Not easy to do so we deserve a big pat on back. Good luck with your next run and best wishes.

Well done. I also run with my dog and picked an area where he could be off lead. I find I set my iPod up in the house when I can still see the screen and just press pause until I am out and ready to start

Thanks, I 'sort of' enjoyed it. I can't believe how the music can make so much difference, defiantly helps to keep my stride shorter (i tend to take long clumping strides). My next problem I have to sort out is how to carry, not only the phone, but dog paraphernalia, leads etc., my girls are fairly good but you never know if you're going to meet someone who puts their dog on a lead the instant they see you (which implies I should do the same). I'm thinking bum bag.

When I'm wearing my summer running gear I do not have the space for things that I do in my track suit so I use a bum bag and find it works quite well for me. They can be obtained quite cheaply. Good luck and best wishes.

Yes, i've deleted week 2 now ( i probably won't need for about a month anyway lol).

I don't think my dogs would let me get out of the door without them once they've seen me put my trainers and socks on. Fortunately there aren't too many dog distractions around here - the odd pheasant or hare, so I leave them to their own devises, i do carry my dog whistle and am teaching them to 'heel' to the whistle - much easier to toot the whistle than scream

'HEEL' breathlessly. :-)
