A good calf stretch is a must too. Find a step, put your foot half on it and then push your heel towards the floor. The steeper the angle, the deeper the stretch. Hope this helps x

Is is a charlie horse--wait, do people say that here, or is that an american phrase? A knotted muscle at the top of your calf?

Hot bath, massaging while you are in there, gentle stretching after.

I'm no expert....w8 starts tomorrow...Ive had calf pain in my right calf for years, it still comes and goes. I eventually read up and found that people use foam rollers to work out the knots in their muscles. So I gave it a go and it worked for me. As I said before, the "knots" still plague me, but I'm now able to work them out.

My doc couldn't help me with that one, I started running and stopped within a few months several years ago because of this- I was offered a cream to rub on and told to take anti inflammatories. Despite this I would recommend you see your doc as a first port of call.

hi,

I tried compression socks, bought on ebay (£5 a pair) and they worked wonders.
