I've invested in some new trainers.... My concern is... Should I wait for the first run of my next week (4) or just run my wk3r3 tomorrow in them? The guys in the shop said, because they are lighter weight, my legs could hurt more?? It sounded all very techno but I'm sure they meant well! Any advice appreciated xx
WK3 R3 tomorrow .... New trainers! : I've... - Couch to 5K
WK3 R3 tomorrow .... New trainers!
When I got new shoes I just went out and ran in them. It was about week 4 I think and I didn't have any problems, in fact I went faster and longer than I had done the previous run.
I would say just go for it, you don't want them new shoes sitting in the box.
Oooo new shoes, what's not to like? Personally, I'd wear them tomorrow because you know you can do the Wk 3 runs. If you wait 'til your first Wk 4 run and you find it tough, you won't know if it's the shoes or the run that's the problem (if you know what I mean!) Let me know how you get on. I'm a day behind you now. I ran this morning and my Achilles held up really well, so I'm planning to r3 on Friday and then start wk 4 on Sunday. Yay, back ion the game!! Enjoy your new shoes x
Yayyy your Achilles is behaving!!! Just got in from W3R3.... Felt great!!! Shoes were lush... Not as heavy as my old ones! Good luck Fri... Then we can hit Week 4 eek xxx
Oh dear, my last post should have read, back IN the game and NOT on the game!!!!!! : D
Agree with @AncientMum, best to wear them now to see whether you do well with them
Get those new shoes on and go for it! You know you want to ...
Probably best try them, on a run you know you can already do. I got my running shoes by the end of the second week and they made a huge difference to my running. Just get out there and enjoy them. Good luck and best wishes.
I had to laugh at that!
I'd have run in them then and there! I'm a bit impetuous though
Me too! I even bought matching knickers! Ooops
If it makes you more enthused about running then that's all to the good! I broke out a pair of new socks yesterday but I think I might take them back to the shop as they failed to live up to the hype on the packaging. Do you think I'd get me money back? LOL
I was born in the days when dire warnings were issued to girls about the status of their underwear, lest they should be involved in an accident and carted off to hospital. Old habits die hard. LOL
New shoes definitely made a difference for me it turns out I had a slightly under-pronating gait, more supportive trainers and legs felt so much better.
