Well 9 weeks ago I was obese and loathed exercise but I knew I had to take myself in hand. I came across C25K on the internet and thought I'd give it a go. OH is very supportive and has joined me on occasional runs but on week 1 he was getting a bit frustrated at my slow pace and walking intervals so kept running ahead and running back to me.
Fast forward to run 3 of week 8 today and I managed to run past him after he had to stop at 21 minutes
Then when I got home and checked the scales I'm overweight rather than obese, and I can fit into a pair of jeans that were shoved in the back of the drawer.
I cannot wait to graduate next week, I'm really enjoying the program.
To anyone debating whether to start C25K, please just do it. It's tough but achievable and you really will feel the benefits.

Brilliant post! Congratulations on your progress on all fronts. Overtaking your (lovely) OH must have been sweet.
You're do right about how people shouldn't hesitate but jump in to C25K with both feet.
I remember only going out after dark and feeling embarrassed when I saw other people on the promenade. Today I ran with 422 other people in bright sunshine wearing Lycra!
Overtaking your OH goes to show that the programme works and you just have to trust it!
Sounds like you're doing really well. Enjoy your running
A very positive and inspiring post. Really pleased that it's all worked out so well for you. Good luck for your graduation week - enjoy it. Best wishes.
well done ... My OH overtakes my cycling but is too "scared " to run with me since i have managed to run for 25 mins. I am now starting W7R1. All thanks to this great programme C25K : )
