W3r2 completed today - first outside run. Much harder.

It was great to get outside in the beautiful spring weather today but I found it much harder than on the treadmill. It was pretty muddy and I was a bit scared I might slip but it was just brilliant to be outside. I have discovered that if I really get a wiggle on with the warm up walk I can get past the hilly bit before it is time to start running so it worked out really well. It was hard though and I cannot imagine being able to progress to w4 after just one more run, it seems a big step up.

Well done on completing w3 r2 and on running outside. Before you worry too much about w4, could you imagine running as far as you have when you first started ? Steady progress, trust the program and enjoy it. You'll be fine.

All the best.

Well done, it feels so good being outside! I find it harder too, especially considering that I live on the top of a steep hill and I do have to walk down 10 minutes before reaching a not so flat bit of road .., going back uphill is a good cool down though! :) I should be doing run 1/w 4 this coming Thursday, when are you planning to do it? we could telepathically encourage each other! ;)

I am running w4r1 on Thursday too. It will be in the gym most likely and after work so about 5pm probably. What time on Thursday do you think you will be doing it?

I'll be doing it in the morning, around 8.30, working on Thursday evening - hopefully the weather will be like this, fantastic day today in West Cork !

Done! And if I have done it so can you! :) not as hard as I dreaded, but it was cold out there this morning. Let me know how it goes!

Well done, I walked the two miles into work this morning so couldn't also run until this evening in the gym. I was feeling really worried but I did it too! can't believe it. We did well as it was a lot more running and less walking. I guess it just keeps on stepping up now! Good luck with the next run!

Did my first run on treadmill on Saturday. W6 r3. Hated it as got hot & sweaty. Today back outside for W7 r1, muuuuch better outside if not gale force wind. Keep at it whichever way suits.

I agree it is nicer outside but I think it is harder. Will try for an outside run either Saturday or Sunday for w4r2.
