Got new trainers this weekend. almost identical to the ones I've been wearing but obviously not worn so not the perfect shape yet and with loads more grip! I had achy calf's and just the feel of my run was different. I know it will feel better but I just want to say... I hate new trailers. Why can't my old one (with holes) last forever????

They're a bit like leather gloves. I've had a pair I use for driving, over 20 years old, hubby bought me a new pair, they are tucked in a drawer!!! When ever I've bought new running shoes I walk in them for about 3 x 5K's to get them broken in. I also never leave it to the last minute to buy, just in case I have problems with new ones I can at least fall back on old faithful's then. Happy new shoe runnings.
Oh no! Not what I want to hear! I treated myself yesterday to some lovely new Brooks Ravennas (I had just completed W6R1 so felt extremely entitled to them!) and I am so excited about wearing them tomorrow evening for R2. They seem such a perfect fit, having had my gait analysis done (I'm very wonky, it would seem!) and I was sure I would fly in them - maybe/maybe not, I shall find out tomorrow! Happy running mustgetthin - I think we are roughly at the same stage xx
You'll be fine. I have been running on very little grip and I found I was almost tripping myself up. I have had these trainers for two years and should have replaced them ages ago but wanted to make sure I could get back into running first. I know in a week or so they will mould to the shape of my feet and I'll be fine. Today I just felt clumsy!
Hang on to your excitement! When I got new shoes (also Brooks) I had no problems wearing them for the programme without needing to break them in first. You may well fly tomorrow. Good luck, enjoy new shoes. Best wishes.
