C25k after having hysterectomy

Hi there, I was wondering if any of the ladies have started/completed C25k after having a hysterectomy. I'm 9 weeks post-surgery and desperate to get back to having a nice 5k jog in the evening; but am worried it may be too much, too soon. All advice welcomed :)

I would consult your doctor and take their advise- once you have got the go ahead just take it slow and easy to build yourself back up- good luck

I would think nine weeks is a little early, especially if your surgery involved a full incision, ie not keyhole. I had a hysterectomy three years ago ( best thing I ever did btw!). Rule of thumb is twelve weeks before resuming anything strenuous. As Hules says, check with your GP before making a decision

Thanks guys. My consultant has given me the thumbs up to resume normal activities but following your advise may leave C25k for a couple more weeks, but increase my walking instead x

I had to have a little op a couple of weeks ago and I asked the doc when I could run. She gave me very strict rules. Wait until I had no pain or pulling then wait a couple more days. Then go for a fast walk if there is any pulling or pain on the walk wait a bit more. My op was less invasive but I was warned too much too soon could set me back. As much as I totally understand your want to get out make sure you give yourself enough time. It will take less time In The long run. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
