Silly question?

Hi, I managed to do the 20min run, followed by another 29min run at a slightly faster pace a few days later. But since then not managed to run more than 10mins without stopping. Don't understand at all. Can anyone shed any light?

Laura talks about this on the post C25k podcast called Speed. I was running along with it yesterday and she said that some runs are better than others and that at times there seems to be rhyme nor reason to it.

Sometimes you feel like you are going backwards and that your running is getting slower. Things will get better though and you just have to have faith in the programme and yourself

Well done for getting this far! Stick with the programme - it works. And stick with "slow and steady" - the aim now is build up your stamina so you can keep running. There's plenty of time to work on speed later. Go back to W6R1 and it should be fine. You've proved you can run for 20 minutes, and so there's no reason you won't be able to complete the programme. Just don't get ahead of yourself (running for almost 50% longer than the last time is not usually recommended, especially if it's faster!) and you'll be working your way through these last 4 weeks soon enough.

I struggled with Week 7 and felt I was going backwards! I was so disappointed! However, I kept at it and it's suddenly clicked! Fingers crossed, I haven't struggled with any 30 minute run so far. I really think it's a mental thing. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I wont be giving up as my target is to start park running again. I was just curious as to how it can be.... Meant to say 20 mins not 29 mins! As really trying not to overdo it. Thanks again.
