So my knee seems to be improving gradually. My GP is adamant I've slightly torn some cartilage in my knee and may also have the onset of osteoarthritis..( I'm 41 ffs!! ). Advised not to do anymore road running therefore when my knee is up to it I will be using the gyms cross trainer and doing some swimming, still following the couch to 5k just not on the road.

Good luck with getting better and I hope that finding a softer surface to run on will help you finish the program. I am a total beginner at all this, but I have read other comments online about trying to run on grass to help ease the joints. For what it is worth, I was diagnosed with severe psoriatic arthritis in my early 30s and whilst it was a shock and I have had to make life-style adjustments, you can cope with it. Good luck and at least you are out there doing something which is great. The worst thing you can do with any type of arthritis is allow everything to seize up.
