I bit the bullet and forked out for a private assessment with a physiotherapist on Wednesday who confirmed by GP'S diagnosis of soft tissue damage in the groin area. I've had this injury since early January and I am so fed up with not being able to run. However today I decided I would walk one of my routes and see how I got on. I had to really slow down but I managed to walk 4k before the pain stopped me. This is a great improvement from two weeks ago but I've still got a long way to go.On Friday I finally got a letter to arrange to have an NHS physio appointment so at least I won't have to worry about paying for private treatment now. My aim is to be running again by Easter so wish me luck please.
Slow recovery and I really miss running! - Couch to 5K
Slow recovery and I really miss running!
Oh dear, poor you. It must be really frustrating not being able to run. I hope your physio will be able to put you right quite soon
Oh, you sound so frustrated! I do hope you'll be on the mend soon. I'm sure that you'll be running by Easter. Good luck!
Fingers crossed for you, Easter is not that far away. In the meantime can you do can you do any of the strength & flex podcasts to keep you active without doing any further damager?
Good luck, Twizzle x
Oh, what a shame, it must be horrible and you sound pretty fed up. It does sound like you have improved a good bit in the last 2 weeks though, which is great, and hopefully the physio will continue to make a difference. Good luck Twizzle - I really hope you are back out by Easter, keep your chin up.
I hope the appointment comes through soon for you. Physio Can work wonders. So hopefully as soon as you see them you will be on the path to recovery, good luck.
