Oh I've just had a great time! I wasn't sure whether to go out or do the treadmill today. The rain was lashing down but I thought no- no indoors for you no-excuse, get out there and get on with it. So that's just what I did. Wanted to be off the roads again, I didn't fancy being the target of HGV's driving through puddles so made my way to the park, a short drive away but worth it. It was brilliant, I was the only one there for a while and it was fantastic just walking and jogging in the rain. Ok- so I got wet anyway, but definitely better than being wetted by the lorries! I was busy minding my own business using the tic tac trick as recommended by aliboo70( it works! I rewarded myself after each 8 minute jog),when 2 professional looking joggers approached and actually gave me a wave in passing! I felt like one of them, and went merrily on my way. Managed the two lots of 8 minutes, it was actually rather enjoyable and the rain kept me lovely and cool. So I'm soaked through but what a big grin I'm wearing!

Thanks Turtle525! I don't know if you have them, but tic tacs are very small mints and as mentioned in post by aliboo70 are good as a treat after the running sections. It worked for me!

Hurray!!! I love going running in the rain but never thought that I would say that. It feels so invigorating!! Nice to be recognised by the other joggers!

I loved not feeling so hot and uncomfortable. Just had a thought- maybe the other joggers were after my sweets!

Aha! Perhaps you need to run with a padlocked, camouflaged sweetie bag!!

Well done no-excuse. I was supposed to do same run today but woke up feeling very unwell. Will have to push it back to Saturday - very frustrating!!

My first night running in the rain, always on treadmill normally, but running in the rain tonight was amazing, I love it!

I did the same run, in the rain, yesterday. It's so worth finding a nice route. I'm really lucky in that a five minute drive away there's a traffic free but tarmacked country lane next to a river (a few hills but copeable with). I loved the rain too. Thanks for the tic tac tip. Will try it on the next one. I get a parched mouth because my breathing is mouth-open all the time (gorgeous I know!) and haven't got round to having one of those runners'-grabby-waterbottle- thingies. What interval do you recommend for tic tacs when we're on the 20 min run? Gulp!

All the best for run3.x

Oh I'm a mouth open runner too! Hubby says I'm a mouth opener all the timer! Anyway, I digress- erm I reckon its got to be intervals of five minutes as aliboo70 tried on the 20 minute runs-I found I didn't need my water yesterday, tic tacs did the job! Sounds like your country lane is good. Good luck to you too. Not sure if I'm looking forward to this one or not x

I went running in the pouring rain yesterday too. It was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. How are you going to do the Tic Tac trick when you've progressed on to running without intervals ? :-)
