Hi all I decided to start running again so joined the couch to 5 k. I’m overweight and the first day could only complete 3 of the 1 min runs the second day run I did 5 of the 1 min runs today I completed all the 1 min runs. So next week I’m going to redo and only move forward to the second week once I have completed all of 3 days running. Is this the right thing to do please advise

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You have the right idea. No point pushing ahead if you cannot fully complete any workout. Have a rest day and then repeat until it is done.

Make sure you are following the advice on the recommended easy conversational pace, which makes it all possible and enjoyable.

Enjoy your journey.

You have now completed all of the 1 min runs so, in your shoes I would count that as Week 1,Run 1 done and your next run would be Week 1, Run, 2.

PS I should also have said well done for getting started, that's the hardest part by far. I'm overweight too - obese :( - but I'm managing it and definitely feeling a lot fitter by the end of Week 7. It's a good feeling.

Absolutely, and it all adds up! Best thing for me is no longer feeling out of breath when I'm walking uphill and also have had to start wearing a belt because my jeans were falling down! 😂
