Been to doctors again ! . Thought I was on the mend sat . Was walking slowly & virtual pain free , yesterday back to square one , it was swollen & couldn't walk down stairs . Off I hobbled to the doctors , he's referred me to a physio 14th jan . Its a sports injury clinic & it's just across road from where I live , so hopefully I should get to the bottom of this . He said it's bio chemical injury to the soft tissue & can be as bad as a fracture or break .
Ankle update : Been to doctors again ! . Thought... - Couch to 5K
Ankle update
Ouch! Sorry to hear that, but don't despair. PHASE ONE - get ankle back to full fitness. PHASE TWO - start running again. The physio will sort it out. Good luck!
Sorry to hear this - what a nuisance. Hopefully they can help, not a bad wait for physio either. At least its getting sorted? Good luck and in the meantime enjoy your hula hoop!
Really sorry to read this rockette, but glad you will be getting help quickly. Being a patient patient is more challenging than the c25k though!
Aww, I was really hoping you would be back out there next week as I know you were struggling with not running. However, I agree with Danzargo that the focus has to be on your ankle at the moment. And just think when you do start again your core will be soooo strong thanks to all the time you will have spent with the hoola hoop!
I am really gutted for you so fingers crossed for 14th January. I twisted my ankle in 2001 (I did make a real mess of it and doctor had it xrayed to check I had not broken it). They said it would take longer to heal than a break and it really did take a year to mend - that was when I stopped playing hockey which was my main form of exercise until I took up C25K last year - so miracles do happen!
I don't think it's a bad sprain , bad enough to make walking uncomfortable& quite painfull . So fingers crossed it won't be a long absence from running . But while I'm out of action with the running the push bikes coming out when I've seen physio . Glad to hear that all's well now with your ankle c4ts
So sorry to hear you're still struggling. Fingers crossed the physio will sort you out
At least you picked the right time of year (weather-wise) to be sitting on the injury bench.
