Boxing Day Chester 5 mile run

Sorry for the late post but been enjoying north Wales for a few days.

I did it!! But "it" wasn't quite what I expected ! It was supposed to be a round the city walls race with a bit on the race course but ice meant we weren't allowed on the city walls and it ended up as an approx 4 mile run around loops of a very muddy race course. Resembling a nightmare school cross country run!! The support for me at the back of the field was great and it didn't bother me coming in last. I managed a sprint finish but found the wet ground very hard going. But the thought of this run had been my motivator for the last 3 months so I had to do it!!

Well done, how long did it take? The reason I ask I am doing my Ist race a bare wrist 5 miles on New Year's Day, had new running trainers yesterday, but want to get them dirty! The winners are those that predict their time accurately ...... Have only ever run 10k once with DH for fun
