Had to make myself go out today! Really did after yesterday's over indulgences . Didn't get up till 8.30 ish . Anyway I decided to run 6k, at a nice steady pace , a few hills thrown in , & I did what I set off to do in 43.13 , really enjoyed it , last time I did this route I hated it & haven't done it since ,I was surprised how much easier & enjoyable I found it today
Boxing Day run: Had to make myself go out today... - Couch to 5K
Boxing Day run
Wow! This is brilliant and inspiring!
I simply don't have the motivation to go out.
My mind is willing, but my body doesn't seem able.
I know what you mean viktor , I find the hardest part is getting out the door sometimes . But once I'm out there it's not so bad & I'm allways glad I went . We all have these days & winter isn't the best time to start running . Hope you manage to get out there , & enjoy your run .
I'm really struggling today with any form of get up and go! It's after 1pm and I never run this time of the day. I'm going to try and get out the door before it gets dark. Thanks your encouraging words Rockette.
I'm sure you will feel the better for it , but if it doesn't work out that way , don't beat yourself up tomorrow's another day ! Enjoy what ever you decide .
I did it! I'm so glad I did that Week 5, run 3 again. I felt really sluggish after all the food I've been tucking into, but I'm proud of myself. I begin week 6 on Saturday morning.
Brilliant , really pleased for you . It's onwards & upwards from now on . Congratulations .
Wow 6k on Boxing day! That's pretty good going! Well done for getting out there. Half the battle at the moment!
Well done Rockette. I ran 5K with my daughter in law today, the first time ever without music and amazed myself. Not only did I enjoy the 'naked' run much more than I thought I would but also got two new personal records. Quite amazing considering the amount I ate yesterday!
Well done folks! Rockette be careful on those hills. I took too steep a slope and now I'm out of action. I wish I'd avoided it or walked it. I've not given my body time to acclimatise to running yet, let alone big hills. Fools rush in ey. I could kick myself. Take care all of you and happy running
Sorry to hear that Misswobble , I know you can get injured easy on hills , daft question , was it coming down because that's hard on the ankles if you come down too fast , I've got a sight injury today actually , nothing major just a sore tendon just left side of my ankle left foot . Hurts when I've been sat & start walking but wears off in a min .
