First Run Without Laura - Run Forrest Run.

Well it's been on my mind all day, how do I run without Laura or do I just replay the wk 9 podcast? I decided that I was a big girl and went out solo. I took a good 10 minutes to get into a steady pace, but marking the Xmas decorations out of 10 like Craig Revel Whatshisname from Strictly, kept me going. By the end of the second circuit, when I normally head for home, I felt OK, so I carried on and did a third run round the block. My speed was also up a little (but not a lot) and by the time I had got back to the 5 minutes from home spot, I had been running for 40 minutes.
After my shower, my curiosity got the better of me, so I hopped into the car to measure the distance; with the two 5 minute walks 5.2K, without 4.2K. I'm nearly there! My knee and arthritic toe are a little sore now, so I'll make sure I take at least a days rest, but I feel great. I'm hoping to finish work for the holidays tomorrow night, so looking forward to consolidate in the daylight.
I hope all my friends on this site don't mind, but I've pulled together a blog of my 9 week journey and added some of your stories and encouragement (no names). it will only be published at work in our Live Well Work Well Newsletter. I'm just hoping to motivate a few others. Happy running to you all.

Well done you! It's taken me weeks to learn to run without Laura! Then I needed music but now find I often prefer running solo and having time to think.

Brilliant! I'm finding it can be more fun when you don't have to be confined by the programme too. I'll probably need a new goal after Christmas, but for now I'm just enjoying it. By the way, have you found the mapometer website for measuring your runs? It's easy to use and cheaper than getting in the car.

Well done, on keeping going! Have you downloaded Laura's three post C25K+ podcasts? They're great! Stepping Stones, Stamina and Speed. They'll be really helpful to you.

I'm with you on judging the Christmas decs! The minutes just fly by. LOL I check my offroad runs (or road runs for that matter) on a website called the goodrunningguide. You can see where you've been and plot your run with a litte running man. It's easy and you don't have to sign in
