I'm so scared! Just looked at the results from last week - even the slowest person is at least 5 minutes faster than me. :(

I felt the same last frid before my first parkrun so know how you must be feeling I am trying to persuade myself to do it again tomorrow but worried i wont be able to do it again! All I can say is try and relax and enjoy the experience and don't be swept up with runners at start and be tempted to go too fast Just aim to finish Remember and take your barcode Let us know how you get on

Thanks. Good comment about not being swept up at start - didnt see your post before I ran.

Great experience, will be going again. See separate post for after run comments.

Ooh me too. Excited but nervous too.

Meet you back here to compare notes afterwards?

Agreeing with Fitfor60, all the advice I've read is to go at your own pace and enjoy it.

Good luck Markee.

Everyone's always nervous the first time, and most Saturdays there's always a bit of butterflies as it can be quite exciting at the start. As someone who is always among the slowest, I find I get more encouragement if anything - everyone recognises you as a fellow runner doing your best, and if your best is 20mins or so behind the frontrunners, then it's still good enough. Let us know how you get on!

Yes, the marshalls and spectators were very supportive.

I loved mine. The weather was perfect. All dappled wintery sunshine. A little cold on my chest but after a quick inhaler pause I plodded on without stopping again coming in with a respectable 35.02.

Want to do it every week now! :)

Wow, that is a very respectable time. Well done!

There were a few first timers today, will have to check the website for their results.
