I thought that, after a year since graduation, it was about time I tried a parkrun. So many of you have put me to shame, especially those of you who hadn't even graduated yet. It's also one of my goals on the "Born to be Wild" quest so I'm going tomorrow!
I've got my barcode, the kit is all ready to slip on and I even got my hair done yesterday! I've checked the weather forecast and it's dire but hey ho we're runners and that won't put us off.
Unfortunately hubby can't come so I'll be on my little ownio. Let's hope they're a nice, friendly bunch.
So, I'm taking a big deep breath, will think of you all cheerng me on and I'll let you know ALL about it afterwards!
Good luck any other first timers.

Just tell people you are a first timer and I am sure you will find a warm welcome. Have you done your homework? Do you know what to expect in regard of course, numbers and pace?
I have done my homework and a couple of weeks ago I ran it! I expect a lot of people to go off fast and overtake me but that won't worry me. It's just me and the run. Thanks IT.
Good luck fir tomorrow. Try not to get swept away with crowd at beginning and go too fast. I always speak to whoever is standing near me at start - just something trivial like ' good weather today' or ' have you done a park run before' Theyve always spoken back to me and it somehow feels like you 'know' someone. We'll all be cheering for you Irishprincess Have fun
Good luck for tommorow, I'm sure you'll love it. I ran my first one last saturday. I just stood at the back at the start and ran behind someone who seemed to be going at my kind of pace. Dont be phased by the people that set off at a blistering pace, some of them will slow right down later on
Just set off at your own pace, keep it steady, and enjoy it. Enjoying it is what it's all about.
That's some way off for me but I'm determined to get involved in Parkruns too. Have a great time tomorrow - let us know how you get on. All the best, Steve
Yes I was a brownie (not a girl guide) so preparation is everything! Drinking water (at this time on a Friday night?!) so hopefully will be nice and hydrated tomorrow. Thank you so much for your lovely words KittyKat.
