Week 1 done

Yipee! It took me 5 runs in total because in the first 2 I only ran 5 and then 6 out of the 8 minutes but I've done it and completed the full 3rd run this morning. Phew. I think I need to build up slowly and if I don't manage the week's 3 runs properly to just keep plugging at it until I do. I really, really want to get to do the Park Run early next year and with a bit of willpower I should do it. It's amazing how I have willpower in other areas of my life but sometimes the running 'wall' seems a bit too high to climb over........ Just need to apply myself to this now and crack on. Thanks for your support. Reading other's posts is a great motivator!

Well done, that's a great achievement and it doesn't matter how long it takes you, the fact that you're doing it is fantastic. It won't be too long before you're enjoying those runs! It's good that you're listening to your body and building up slowly, no need to rush, especially in this weather! My motivation to keep at it is that my legs feel so much stronger now and are taking on a new shape - I have calf muscles!! I also feel so much fitter and can run up and down stairs whereas before I used to drag myself up them! Happy running :)

You CAN do this! Yes you CAN! At each and every step I wondered how I'd ever get to the next week. I have no idea how this programme works but it does! Trust in it and do what Laura tells you. Before you know it you'll be posting on here that you've just done your Week 5 20 minutes like I have. Good luck! :-)
