It's become worse over the last few days, really quite painful once I get to the top of a normal flight of stairs. Running for 30 mins is fine though. Anyone know what this could be?

does it also hurt getting out of a chair, or squatting?
I had a problem a couple years ago where both my kneecaps migrated outside the groove they are supposed to hover over, thus where rubbing against bone when did any significant knee-bending (including going UP stairs)... physiotherapy fixed me up.
see a medical professional though, especially if it's PAIN not discomfort
