The nerves have been playing with me this week, with the difficult run on Sunday and a difficult 5km on Tuesday. So I was extra careful today with what I ate to make sure I had the correct fuel to run well and pushed myself a little to get in a good run.
The run went well and is a bit of a confidence boost before the HM. I am hoping for reasonable weather on Sunday and will be volunteering at my Parkrun on Saturday.
Most of my runs since my training half marathon two weeks ago have been difficult, and I am putting that down to my body recovering from the run. If I manage to match my 1:57 HM then I will be delighted, so that will be the pace I will be aiming for.
All the best Aftab you've done the work so enjoy it as much as you can and join the c25k HM legends ..... forecast looks a bit breezy for the weekend though
Thanks! Yes the weather may not be very helpful, but the practice HM I completed two weeks ago was in very bad conditions, torrential rain, so I hope I can tackle whatever is thrown my way.
Good luck for Sunday! I did my first half marathon in September and loved it! My furthest distance up to that point was 12 miles which took me 2hrs 17mins. I did the actual thing in 2hrs 15mins, not bad for a 51 year old who has only been running for a year. Looks like you have done all the right things leading up to it. Good luck!
You will be fine - you have already done it once in the worst of conditions. Just remember you are only doing this for yourself and have nothing to prove to any one - except us of course-Ha ha:-).
Aftab, always great to read your posts and amazing to see how far you have come. I sincerely hope you have a great run and hope you achieve your target. Looking forward to your posting after then run believe it or not.......your great at building it all up lolllllll. Great to follow it. Best of luck. Inshallah you will succeed. M
