Decisions decisions........

Back at the beginning of August I ran a stonking parkrun, I set out to beat my PB and did, the reason? It was the one year anniversary of starting running. That was just under 9 weeks ago, this weekend (well, next Monday to be exact) is the first anniversary of graduating. So the decision I need to make is do I repeat the parkrun and try for a new PB or do I do a long run trying for a distance PB? Speed or distance? Or set myself a new 10k PB? Or just go out and have fun? Hmmmmm, decisions......

(and don't even get me started on the fact I managed to run the battery out on my FR10 on a dog walk so am thinking about upgrading that as well......)

Beast the Parkrun on Saturday, then go for an easy-paced distance run on Sunday. Then treat yourself to a new Garmin on Monday! Sounds like a plan to me.

Whatever you do, enjoy it and do it well!

As much as I would love to (and may well attempt) I'm not sure if my little legs can do a 24 minute parkrun, then close to 20k the day after! Just the thought of attempting the beat my parkrun PB gives me the collywobbles! But......

The weatherman says goldilocks weather for the weekend so.....

I know I never replied to your message about my Mr Sony Walkman dying on me a couple of weeks ago and you telling me I had to run naked. Now I find you know where you are because you have a chargeable gadget on your wrist??!!

Going with Laura gives me the comfort of 5 min intervals - but I have since just one out and listened to my own music and also the radio since - I need it as a comfort to keep me running!!

Hope you choose the Parkrun but enjoy whichever run you do.

My chargeable gadget tells me where I've been, allows me to geek out and entertains me after the run rather than during it. I just need it to tick over while I'm out. I've just about managed to prevent myself looking at it too much. One day I decided I definitely WASN'T going to look AT ALL during the run and found myself counting the km beeps instead. I must have missed some as I was out by a couple of k by the time I got home. ;)

The other thing it does is tells me the time so I know how long I've got left and whether I need to get home soon, my stomach growling is not a reliable indicator for that.

I agree with Malcy... Your legs will be fine as parkrun is a quick run....and definitely get the Garmin, I do want one of those they are fab..... Good luck with whatever you decide to go for I'm sure you'll nail it!!!! X

Part one done!

New PB of 24:05 set this morning. It's scary to think my 'comfortable' running pace is about 5.5 mph but my fastest parkrun is a little over 8mph!!!!

I have a route planned in my head for tomorrow to get me past my previous long one, will I be able to remember where I want to go? Will I make it or bottle out (it's got to be circular as hubby is working so won't be able to respond to a 'come get me' call)? Weather still seems to be forecast to be good.......
